Challenge

LZI provided building enclosure consulting services for $1+ billion campus expansion comprised of East Pavilion, Logistics Building, West Tunnel, Cancer/Digestive Health Inpatient and Support Facility, Women’s Health Inpatient and Support Facility, and East Tunnel. Six new buildings will house 155 inpatient beds, eight operating rooms, 24 ICU beds, and 120,000 square feet of ambulatory facilities. Throughout the campus, outdoor spaces will provide environments for therapies and meditation, including numerous healing gardens programmed to create unique and meaningful experiences for patients and caregivers.  LZI completed design peer review of pre and post-applied below-grade waterproofing, exterior walls with rain screen cladding over CI and AWB, low-slope PVC membrane roof assemblies, system integrations at fenestrations, sheet metal flashings, and SEJs (seismic expansion joints).   LZI supported the project during construction and provided performance mockup review, submittal and shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs, adhesion testing, water testing observations, and progress site visit reviews.  The project is currently in construction.
