Kaiser Permanente San Marcos Medical Center and Central Utility Plant

DPR Construction engaged LZI as the building enclosure consultant for a new seven-level, 430,000 square foot acute care hospital with 206 beds, emergency, surgical and other hospital support functions. The exterior elements include unitized fenestration and metal wall panel cladding, below-grade waterproofing, horizontal waterproofing and low-slope roofing. The project also included a new 26,000 square foot central utility plant structure. The project challenges included a complex unitized building skin comprising of glazing and metal panels that resulted in significant reductions to the project schedule duration. The project was completed in August 2023.
