Caltech – Ginsburg Center for Quantum Precision Measurement

LZI completed basis of design and design peer review.  Currently during the construction phase LZI is providing construction administration service for the building enclosure.  The new four level, 70,000 GSF building with scientific offices, seminar spaces and 24,000 GSF below-grade experimental quantum laboratories will explore time, space and gravity.  The subterranean labs extend beyond the footprint of the above-grade building by approximately 14,000 GSF and require stringent protection from water penetration resistance on the below-grade walls and lid.  The project features pre-applied below-grade waterproofing, basement/laboratory lid waterproofing, an exterior enclosure performance mock-up, custom unitized curtain wall, metal panel rain screen cladding over insulation and air-water barrier, PVC membrane low-slope roofing, and an accessible terrace garden roof on the lower one level seminar roof.
