Edwards Lifesciences Campus Expansion

LZI provided building enclosure for five, two and three level, Type I construction, high-performance campus buildings A through E that feature exterior podium terraces with planters, low-slope roofing, unitized glazing, precast and rainscreen walls, mass timber walls, and concrete tilt-up elements.  Constructed over four phases, the buildings added approximately 600,000 sq. ft. of space that comprise of a mix of offices, administration spaces, core-and-shell lab spaces, meeting areas, dining and conference center, and a museum.  The buildings are connected by exterior, weather-exposed terraces and bridges separated by seismic expansion joints. LZI completed design peer review of the podium hot rubberized asphalt waterproofing, low-slope PVC roofing, system integrations at fenestrations, sheet metal flashings, and seismic expansion joints.  LZI supported the project during construction and provided submittal and shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs, and progress site visit reviews.
