LA County Mental Health Urgent Care Center (MHUCC) and Residential Withdrawal Management Facility (RWMF)

LZI provided building enclosure design peer review and construction administration services for the new construction of a two-level wood-framed slab-on-grade structure with a secure exterior courtyard and Level 2 dining terrace located within the center of the building.  The project delivery method was design-build. LZI completed design peer review of the slab edge and elevator pit waterproofing, terrace waterproofing, exterior wall cladding (rainscreen metal panels over AWB), drainage EIFS, horizontal waterproofing (split-slab membrane assemblies), fenestrations (punched windows and storefront), sheet metal flashings and low-slope roofing. LZI provided construction administration services that included submittal and shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs, progress site visit reviews, exterior facade testing program and observations.  

Project challenges included sequencing considerations between differing roofing, waterproofing and exterior wall assemblies and developing project-specific transitions to resolve complex field geometry.
