CSUN Student Housing Buildings 22 & 23

LZI provided building enclosure design peer review and construction administration service for the construction of two new residence buildings comprised of three levels of Type V-A, wood framed construction over a concrete ground level supported on grade.  The building design leveraged existing plans generated for a previously completed residence built on campus constructed ca. 2014, with several scope modifications including exterior assembly updates for compliance with current energy code and CSU standards.  LZI completed design peer review of the below grade waterproofing, exterior wall cladding (insulated cement plaster, metal panel, and fiber cement panels with AWB), windows in punched-openings and storefronts, sheet metal flashings, split-slab waterproofing, low-slope PVC membrane roofing. LZI supported the project during construction and provided support of the performance mock-up, submittal and shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs, progress site visit reviews, exterior facade testing program and observations.
