CLIENT: Frank Webb Architects, Culver City, CA

CHALLENGE: LZI is the building enclosure consultant for this new two-level, 80,000 square foot medical office building of type II-B construction. The façade elements include cement plaster, high-pressure compact laminate panels, and metal composite panel cladding, and curtainwall and storefront fenestration systems. The building has a low-slope, single-ply roof over tapered insulation and roof-top mechanical equipment. Unique project challenges include drift joints at window heads, continuous exterior wall insulation, and transitions between the numerous cladding types. Construction is anticipated to be complete in June 2017.

OTHER SERVICES PERFORMED/ANTICIPATED: Basis of design consultation, design peer review, hygrothermal modeling of wall and roof assemblies and construction administration.
